Everything is free: the ride, drinks, snacks and, of course, grilled "wurst." A free lunch will be served after the ride at 11:00 in the Shelter House across from the BMX track, compliments of Dan's Competition and RC Cola.
The ride routes consist of Burdette Park's Discovery Trail bike routes in Union Township and in the hills west of Burdette. The shortest route in 6.2 miles. Routes can be combined for those who want more miles. All four routes total 32 miles. Maps will be provided; SAG support too.
Members are encouraged to bring friends and neighbors. We welcome riders of all ages and abilities, including beginners and less experienced cyclists. From PR Director Ann Pendley: We'll be taking a break from our regular schedule to support the Earth Day Bike ride sponsored by the Westside Improvement Association. The official route is 10.5 miles through the Dogtown area (what's not underwater anyway) but, we can always stretch it out a bit. What better way to celebrate Earth Day than a good bike ride?
